ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team will play their third of three straight at home on Friday, October 7 when they welcome in the first-place and undefeated North Central Cardinals.
Augie is coming off of an 8-1 home victory over the Elmhurst Bluejays on Wednesday to improve to 3-2 on the season. The Vikings won all three doubles matches for the early 3-0 lead, followed up by wins in five of six singles matches.
Caitlyn Hanulikova,
Michaela Magee, and
Hannah Colbert only dropped one game each in their wins at the No. 2-4 slots, while
Lily Schoeck cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 1 position.
North Central currently sits at 11-0 overall and 6-0 in the CCIW. The Cardinals defeated North Park by a final of 9-0 in their most recent dual match on September 24.
Augustana holds a 29-8 all-time record against North Central, but has dropped the last five encounters. The Cardinals won all three meetings last season, taking the matches by final scores of 9-0, 5-0, and 5-0.
