Three Vikings complete stay at ITA Regionals in St. Louis

Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Members of the Augustana Vikings women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regional Championships over the weekend, each picking up wins during their stay.

In singles, Hannah Colbert earned a round one win over her opponent from Case Western on Friday, bouncing back from a first-set defeat to win the second to force a super tiebreaker, which she prevailed by a score of 10-8. Colbert was then defeated in the second round to an opponent from the University of Chicago, falling by a final of 6-0, 6-2.

Also on Friday, Caitlyn Hanulikova bounced back from an opening-round loss, defeating Webster in her second match by a score of 6-7, 6-1, winning the super tiebreaker 10-7. She fell to Wittenberg in the consolation round of 16 to end her stay in St. Louis.

Both Colbert and Hanulikova's wins came against players with higher rankings (UTRs).

Lily Schoeck and Colbert also competed in doubles this past weekend, but were defeated in each of their matches, falling to Franciscan on Friday by a score of 8-5 and Washington-St. Louis 8-2 on Saturday.

The Vikings will be back in action on Wednesday, October 5 when they host Elmhurst in a CCIW matchup. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
