ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team will welcome in the Carthage Firebirds on Saturday, October 15 to round out their regular-season CCIW slate.
Augie sits at 4-3 on the season following a 6-3 road victory over North Park on Thursday. The Vikings fell behind 2-1 after North Park grabbed two of three doubles matches, but bounced back with four wins in singles to claim the victory.
Caitlyn Hanulikova and
Natasha Gauerke were winners at No. 2 doubles before each winning their singles match to help lead Augie to their fourth win of the season.
The Firebirds enter the weekend with a 3-4 record both overall and in conference. Carthage has won two of their last three matches, defeating both Elmhurst and Illinois Wesleyan by a score of 9-0 over that span.
Augustana is 26-16 all-time against Carthage. The Vikings have won 11 of 12 over the Firebirds, but split last year's matchups. Augie avenged a regular-season loss with a 5-4 win in the CCIW Tournament. With a victory on Saturday, Augustana can claim the No. 4 seed in this season's conference tournament.
Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from the Lower Campus Courts. Live results can be found
