ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team was defeated by the Elmhurst Bluejays on Tuesday, falling by a score of 3-1.

The Bluejays grabbed the first set by a score of 25-22 to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Augie responded with a three-point win to even things up, overtaking Elmhurst after trailing 18-16 with nine of the final 13 points scored. Elmhurst grabbed the second and third sets by identical scores of 25-20 to complete the home victory.

Emily Schipper and Jaden Julius both posted hitting percentages of over .333, with Schipper leading the way with 19 kills and Julius with 12. Amelie Baehr-Ross tallied 36 assists, while Grace Vranicar added 20 digs.

With the loss, Augustana drops to 14-7 overall and 3-3 in the CCIW. The team will be back in action on Friday, October 14 in a non-conference contest at Dubuque. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
