WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's indoor track & field teams both competed at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational this past weekend, with the men participating on Friday followed by the women on Saturday.
The Augie men placed fourth overall out of 11 teams present after scoring a total of 54 points.
Carson Eipers followed up his record-breaking performance a week ago with another weight throw win, this time posting a toss of 17.77m, which was .50m more than the second-place finisher. Also in the field events,
Jack Currie took home first in the shot put with a mark of 15.21m, placing him eighth all-time in program history.
Luke Cowan placed fourth in the event with a PR of 13.96m.
In the running events,
Michael Gille earned fifth in the 3000m with a time of 8:35.09. The mark is good for eighth all-time in school history.
Seth Sottos also found himself in the record books with a sprint of 6.98s in the 60m dash, good for fourth all-time.
On the women's side,
Katrina Krebasch won the pole vault event for the fourth time in as many meets this season, clearing 3.66m to give her first place.
Afi Gati posted two PRs in both the weight throw (11.57m) and shot put (10.30m).
Heather Michalski also had a personal best in the weight throw at 12.85m. The freshman also placed sixth in the shot put.
Irais Tenorio took fifth in the one-mile run, tallying a PR of 5:37.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, February 5 when they head to Bloomington, Ill. for the Keck DIII Select. Start time is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
