Viking women improve to 3-0 following road win over St. Ambrose

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings women's swimming and diving team improved to 3-0 on Friday following a 118-97 road win over the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. Augie saw five individual first-place finishes on their way to third dual meet victory of the season. In relays, the Vikings earned two second-place finishes.

Relays: 

In other events, Augie won the 1000 free, 200 free, 50 free, 100 back and the 1650. 

Top three finishes:

  • Madelynn Marunde won the mile (18:36.19) and took second in the 100 breast

  • Addison Larson took second in the 1000 (11:33.11) and second in the 500 free (5:37.54)

  • Valentine won the 1000 (11:32.80)

  • Walker won the 200 free (2:02.05)

  • Bella Valenti took second in the 200 free (2:05.44) and third in the 100 back (1:05.81)

  • Emily Martin took second in the 100 back (1:04.63) and third in the 200 free (2:06.68)

  • Zahara won the 50 free (25.34)

  • Seten took second in the 50 free (26.20) 

  • Lauren Raike took second in the 200 IM (2:19.96)

  • Bella Casanovas took third in the 200 IM (2:21.05)

  • Heiar took 2nd in the 100 fly (1:00.44) and third in the 100 breast (1:12.03)

  • Megan Frost took second in the 100 free (57.65)

  • Glasnovich won the 100 back (1:01.20)

  • Jenna Hale took 3rd in the 500 (5:42.35)

The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday, January 29 when they host CCIW opponent Wheaton Thunder in their final dual meet of the season. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from the Anne Greve Lund Natatorium.
