DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's swimming & diving team was defeated on the road Friday night, falling to the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees by a score of 173-35.
In the 100-yard backstroke event,
Nick Phillips placed second with a final mark of 52.05, just .07 out of first.
Hunter Craft narrowly missed a top two finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.47, just .03 behind the second-place finisher.
Lorenzo Moreno placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:25.67.
Albert Buvary earned a top-five place in the breaststroke, while
Kacper Cebula took home second in the 200-yard IM.
Gavin McCorry (200 freestyle) and
Jack Blumenfeld (100 freestlyle) also secured team bests in their respective events and top six finishes.
With the loss, Augie drops to 2-1 on dual meets this season. The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday, January 29 when they host CCIW opponent Wheaton Thunder in their final dual meet of the season. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from the Anne Greve Lund Natatorium.
