ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana women's basketball (7-10, 1-7) continues their conference schedule with Monday matchup at Carroll University.
Carroll enters the week on a seven-game winning streak and a 12-3 overall record. All three losses have come in conference play as the Pioneers are also 4-3 in league action. The Pioneers' current winning streak includes four wins over conference opponents. Most recently, Carroll handed Illinois Wesleyan their first defeat in conference play in a 70-48 demolition of the Titans.
Carroll's attack is led by a potent offense that averages 71.1 points per game as a unit. Individually, just one player averages double-digit points. Katie Rohner is the leading scorer for Carroll with 12 ppg. The remainder of the Pioneer attack is balanced with three other players scoring at least eight points per contest. Elizabeth Behrndt and Allison Thompson lead the rebounding effort for the Pioneers with an even six collections per game.
Augustana holds a three-game advantage in the recent history of the matchup with the Pioneers. The Vikings have won seven of the last 11 meetings. The Vikings and Pioneers squared off three times last season, including once in the CCIW Tournament. Carroll won two of those three games including the most recent to end Augie's 2020-21 campaign.
