ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana women's basketball team (7-9, 1-6) will host the Millikin Big Blue for a CCIW contest this weekend.
Millikin enters the weekend with a 13-4 overall record and 7-1 record in conference play. The Big Blue come into the Carver Center after losing their last game to Illinois Wesleyan, their only conference loss this season. The loss dropped Millikin into second-place in the CCIW standings. Prior to stumbling at IWU, Millikin was roaring through their schedule, winning 10 straight games including seven league games.
Millikin is led by the conference's top scorer, Elyce Knudsen. Knudsen is averaging just over 20 points per game on a 48.5% shooting percentage. Knudsen also has the most three-point attempts for the Big Blue and makes deep shots at a 37.3% rate. Knudsen also leads Millikin on the glass (6.2 rpg), in distribution (3.4 apg), and is tied for the team-lead in blocks (0.8 bpg) and steals (2.2 spg).
Two other Millikin players average double-digit points including Bailey Coffman with 13.2 ppg and Jordan Hildebrand with 10.3 ppg. Hildebrand is just behind Knudsen in rebounding with a 6.1 rpg average and has an equal number of steal per contest.
Millikin leads the all-time series with Augustana by a 50-32 margin. The Big Blue defeated Augie in this season's first match up between the two squads. The Vikings' last victory over Millikin came in the 2019-20 season by a 76-69 score.
