ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana women's volleyball team will travel this weekend for another duo of non-conference matches.
 
The 4-10 Vikings will take on the 10^th-ranked Wartburg Knights and Augsburg Auggies in a double-header at Wartburg. Augustana will play the Knights at 10:00 A.M on Saturday, Sept. 25 and Augsburg immediately after at 12:00 P.M.
 
Wartburg enters the weekend with an unblemished 13-0 overall record. The Knights are also 2-0 in American Rivers Conference action. Wartburg's versatile approach is led by hitters Kennedy Meister, Kylie Bildstein, and Zaiah Quirk with over 130 kills each. Claire Marsh has been an integral piece of the Knights' success with a whopping 477 assists so far. Marsh also leads the club in service aces with 17 and is second in digs with 151, behind Katie Foster with 271.
 
Augustana and the Knights have faced off on five previous occasions. The Vikings are 2-3 all-time against Wartburg. The Knights have won the two most recent matches while Augie's last victory in the series came in the 2016 season.
 
Augsburg is also unbeaten in conference and comes into the Wartburg Invitational with an 8-2 overall mark. Kayla Gjerde has been the catalyst for the Auggie offense with a team-high 110 kills. Gjerde is also third on the team in digs wth 117. Angel Khang and Maddie Nierengarten lead that statistical category with 127 and 123, respectively. Lexie Lang has been an excellent setter for Augsburg with 361 assists on the season.
 
Augustana and Augsburg have seen each other once before. The Vikings lost the 2013 match in a 3-0 sweep.
