ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana women's golfers opened the 2021 fall season with a strong showing at the Quad City Cup in Rock Island. The Vikings' "A" squad paced the event with a total score of 311 (+23), more than 20 shots fewer than the runner-up St. Ambrose team.

Augustana's excellent play was highlighted by junior Grace Loverde. Loverde was the medalist of the tournament, shooting a collegiate best 74. Loverde also made history when she made a hole-in-one on the eighth hole at Highland Springs Golf Course. Her ace was just the third ever in Augustana women's golf history.

Avery Frick also put forth a great effort as she carded a three-over 75 for the day to take individual runner-up honors. For a complete view of team and individual results, click HERE.

The Viking ladies will be back on the course this weekend for the Highland Classic in Rock Island. Highland Springs will again serve as the host venue.
