ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana women's volleyball team will take a trip tomorrow night for their next match. On Wednesday, Sept. 15, the Vikings will visit Monmouth College for a non-conference bout. Both varsity and junior varsity squads will compete tomorrow night.
The Vikings bring an overall record of 3-5 into the mid-week match, and are currently riding a three-game losing streak. Most recently, Augie dropped a pair of games to Loras and Grinnell at the Pioneers' triangular last weekend.
On the other side, Monmouth has posted a 5-3 record this season, but is also on a three-game losing skid. The Fighting Scots' most recent match-ups came at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, and included losses to the host from IWU, a ranked Ohio Northern squad, and Earlham College.
Augustana and Monmouth have faced off on five other occasions, with the Vikings holding a 4-1 series advantage. The Scots won the first match in 2012 in five sets, but Augie bounced back and swept the next three from 2013-15.
