ONALASKA, Wis. – The Augustana women's golf team competed in the second event of the weekend on Sunday. The Vikings finished in third place in the seven-team V-Hawk Invitational hosted by Viterbo University.
Sunday's tournament was the first event of the year in which the Vikings did not win the team competition.
UW-La Crosse finished atop the team standings with a total score of +41. The hosts, Viterbo, were the runner-up at +43, just two strokes behind the victorious Eagles. Augustana finished in third place as a squad with a team score of +61.
Viterbo's Madison Zloto won the individual race with a round of +6, 78. She also won by a mere two strokes over La Crosse's Grace Ellison and Augie's
Paige Breslin at +8.
Augustana had two other members in the top ten of the individual competition.
Avery Frick was T6 after a round of +11 and
Rylie Schurter finished just behind her at +12 in T9.
The Vikings ladies golfers will be back on the links this weekend from Friday, Sept. 17 to Saturday, Sept. 18 when they travel to the IWU Fall Invite in Normal, Ill.
