Box Score ERIE, Pa. - The Augustana Vikings men's water polo team fell in their third and final contest of the Penn-State Behrend Invitational on Saturday morning, defeated by the Austin Roos by a score of 17-8.

It was a quick start for the Roos as they jumped out to a 4-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Following three straight scores from Austin to begin the game, Ben Grafe put the Vikings on the board with a goal halfway through the period, but the Roos got it back shortly after to hold the three-score lead through eight minutes of play. Augustana responded nicely in the second, notching three straight goals to even the game at 4-4. From there, Austin secured three of the next four goals scored to maintain their lead at halftime at a score of 7-5. Joseph Addison added two goals in the second for Augie to help shrink the deficit to just two points at intermission.

Austin successfully pulled away in the third after posting a 6-1 advantage to take a 13-6 lead into the final frame. The Roos nearly mirrored their third-quarter performance, pushing across five goals in the fourth while also holding the Vikings to just one goal. Outside of the second quarter, Austin outscored Augustana 15-3. Zander O'Dwyer and Lucas Osborn both added scores for Augie in the second half.

With the loss, Augustana drops to 1-2 on the young season. The team will head back out east on Friday, September 17th for their next contest against Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It will be the first of a three-day, four-game stay in New London, Conn. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CST.
