Vikings finish 10-6 overall and place second at the CCIW Championship; Annie Timm, Lily Schoeck and Michaela Magee earn All-CCIW honors; Jon Miedema leaves as winningest coach in program history
Augustana finished the 2020-21 season with a 10-6 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the CCIW. The Vikings placed second at the CCIW Championship. Senior
Annie Timm (Prairie Ridge HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) and sophomores
Lily Schoeck (Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) and
Michaela Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) were named to the All-CCIW team. At the close of the season, Head Coach
Jon Miedema announced he was stepping down. With a 180-72 record in 10 seasons, he leaves as the winningest coach in program history.
Miedema's number one singles, Timm was an All-CCIW selection for the fourth time in her career and earned first team honors for the third time. She finished the year 7-6 in singles and posted an 8-8 record with Schoeck at first doubles. The defending CCIW champion at first singles, she didn't have an opportunity to defend her title, as the league didn't hold its flighted tournament in 2020-21.
Despite having parts of two seasons disrupted by COVID restrictions, Timm compiled a 70-23 career singles mark—tied for 10th-most wins in program history. Her .753 career singles winning percentage ranks ninth all-time at Augustana. With a 62-29 doubles record, she is in the program's top 20 all-time in wins and winning percentage and her 132 total career victories are 13th-most in Viking history.
Schoeck played second singles and went 10-4. She posted a 7-1 singles record in conference play and earned second team All-CCIW recognition. In two seasons at Augustana, she's 23-7 in singles action and 21-14 in doubles. Her .767 career singles winning percentage is eighth-best in program history.
Magee repeated as an All-CCIW second team selection. With a 10-5 mark, mostly at number three, she shared the team lead in singles wins with Schoeck. Magee was 7-1 in the CCIW singles play. With a career singles record of 25-10, her .714 winning percentage is tied for 16th all-time for the Vikings.
Freshman
Caitlyn Hanulikova (Ames HS, Ames, Iowa) held down the fourth singles spot, finishing 6-6. She had a team-best 11 doubles wins against five losses, including an 8-1 record (5-0 in the CCIW) with Sophomore
Lauren Oda (Elk Grove HS, Elk Grove Village, Ill.) at number three.
Oda posted respective records of 6-4 and 10-4 in singles and doubles this year. She played at third doubles and primarily at fifth singles. In two seasons she's put together a 20-7 singles mark—a .741 career winning percentage that ranks 10th in school history.
Senior
Kalli Majewski (Mundelein HS, Mundelein, Ill.), who split time this spring between tennis and track & field, posted a 6-3 mark playing primality at fifth and sixth singles. She went 8-5 in doubles, mostly with senior
Morgan Bullen (Colorado Academy, Lakewood, Colo.) at number two.
