NORMAL, Ill. – Senior
Jack Neenan (Benet Academy, Naperville, Ill.) led the way this weekend, as Augustana placed sixth at the CCIW Championships at Weibring Golf Club. Illinois Wesleyan had four of the top six individuals and captured the team title.
Neenan shot 79-75-79—233 for the weekend to finish in a tie for 12th place.
Junior
Hunter Love (Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) tied for 18th with an 80-78-80—238 tournament and sophomore
Tyler Langel (West Delaware HS, Manchester, Iowa) shot 81-77-81—239 to place 20th in a field of 45 golfers.
Senior
Dylan Flock (Maroa-Forsyth HS, Forsyth, Ill.) and sophomore
Jonah Snelling (Benet Academy, Glen Ellyn, Ill.) rounded out Coach
Paul Del Vecchio's Viking contingent. Flock carded an 89-82-81—252 to tie for 35th and Snelling shot 91-85-89—265 to tie for 41st.
Carthage's Zachary Shawhan (71-74-74—219) claimed medalist honors by five strokes over Tyler Reitz of Millikin (73-75-76—224). The next four finishers were from team champion IWU.
Millikin (300-296-325—921) finished second in the team standings, 27 strokes back of the Titans (286-299-309—894). Carthage (305-303-314—922) was third, followed by Wheaton (319-309-330—958), North Park (318-310-331—959) and Augustana (329-312-321—962). Elmhurst (326-332-324—982) finished seventh, with Carroll (327-317-349—993) and North Central (335-341-332—1008) completing the standings.
