NORMAL, Ill. – Senior Dylan Flock (Maroa-Forsyth HS, Forsyth, Ill.) and sophomore Jonah Snelling (Benet Academy, Glen Ellyn, Ill.) led a balanced Augustana effort Wednesday, as the Vikings tied for fifth in a field of 14 teams at the CCIW Preview at Weibring Golf Club. Each carded a 78 to tie for 20th place at the one-day event.

Coach Paul Del Vecchio's contingent was rounded out by sophomore Tyler Langel (West Delaware HS, Manchester, Iowa), junior Hunter Love (Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) and freshman Dan Ford (Geneseo HS, Geneseo, Ill.). Langel shot 79 to tie for 24th in a 70-player field, Love placed 32nd with an 81 and Ford tied for 42nd with an 83, as all five Vikings matched or bettered their lowest rounds of the season.

Augustana's collective round of 316 tied Wheaton for fifth place. Illinois Wesleyan, behind medalist Rob Wuethrich (70), claimed the top spot (292), 13 strokes ahead of a second Titan outfit. Carthage shot a collective 308 to finish third, one stroke ahead of Millikin.

IWU's Hayden Henry and Kevin Healy of Carthage tied for second place with matching  rounds of 72. Titan Ethan Wilkins (73) was fourth, while teammates Andrew Abel and Parker Mullen—playing as an individual—tied for fifth with rounds of 74.

North Park and a second Millikin unit shot 322 to tie for seventh in the team standings, followed by Elmhurst (324), Carroll (334), North Central (338) and a second Carthage squad (346). Second units from North Park (353) and Carroll (357) rounded out the 14-team field.

Next up for Del Vecchio's crew is the Augustana Invite on Friday and Saturday, April 9-10 at Highland Springs Golf Course.
