Seth Tegtmeiers' Augustana bowling team wrapped up the 2020-21 regular season on Saturday, besting host North Central in both traditional and Baker play. The Vikings then split with Elmhurst, falling in traditional play before bouncing back with a win in the Baker match.
Tegmeier's crew will take a 21-3 head-to-head record and the number three seed into the CCIW Tournament, which opens at Castle Lanes in Racine, Wisconsin on Saturday, March 13. North Central will be Augustana's first-round opponent. The tournament will conclude on Saturday, March 20, also at Castle Lanes.
Junior
Abigail Clark (Wilmot HS, Twin Lakes, Wis.) rolled a season-best 208 to lead the Vikings to a 780-668 traditional win over the host Cardinals. Senior
Taylor Kies (Oswego HS, Oswego, Ill.) chipped in with a 187. Augustana then extended its winning streak to 17 matches with an 827-637 Baker victory over North Central.
The Vikings saw their streak snapped with a 753-686 setback to Elmhurst in traditional play. Kies led the way with a 195, but no other Augustana bowler bettered 129 in the match. Tegtmeier's bunch bounced back to take the Baker match by a score of 730-724.
