ELMHURST, Ill. – Coach
Seth Tegtmeier's Augustana bowling team rattled off four more victories Saturday, downing Elmhurst and Illinois Wesleyan in both traditional and Baker play to move its head-to-head record to 18-2 on the season. The Vikings have now won 15 consecutive matches—seven straight in traditional play and eight in a row in Baker action.
Freshman
Alexis Munch (Sycamore HS, Sycamore, Ill.) and junior
Alex Buffington (Harlem HS, Loves Park, Ill.) led the way in Augustana's 816-712 traditional-match win over the host Bluejays. Munch rolled a 201 and Buffington a 180. Tegtmeier's crew also logged an 820-679 win over Elmhurst in Baker play. The Vikings have now taken five straight matches from the only program to have defeated them this year.
Buffington (173) and Munch (156) again led the way as Augustana defeated Illinois Wesleyan 734-516 in the team's traditional match. Baker play also went in the Vikings' favor by a score of 777-533.
Augustana will look to extend its winning streak when it competes in Naperville, Illinois on March 6. As has been the case all season, they will be joined at the venue by Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan and host North Central.
