Taylor Kies (Oswego HS, Oswego, Ill.) and
Alex Buffington (Harlem HS, Loves Park, Ill.) turned in Augustana's top traditional-match performances on Saturday, leading Coach
Seth Tegtmeier's bowling squad to its second straight 4-0 weekend. The Vikings have now won 11 straight matches in traditional and Baker play and sport a 14-2 head-to-head record on the season.
Seeing her first action of the year, Kies rolled a 184 to lead Augustana to a 758-753 win over Elmhurst in traditional action to start the day. Buffington contributed a 170. The Vikings posted a season-high Baker total of 836 to defeat the Bluejays, who had a pinfall of 762.
Buffington recorded the team's top score of the day with a 185 in Augustana's 829-654 traditional-match win over North Central. Junior
Abigail Clark (Wilmot HS, Twin Lakes, Wis.) and freshman
Samantha Novak (Fenton HS, Bensenville, Ill.) each chipped in with a 169. Tegtmeier's bunch completed the day's sweep with a 770-502 victory over the Cardinals in Baker play.
The Vikings are scheduled to be in Elmhurst, Illinois on Saturday, February 27, where Illinois Wesleyan and North Central will be competing, along with the host Bluejays.
