MILAN, Ill. – In its only home event of the season, Coach
Seth Tegtmeier's Augustana bowling team took four straight matches Saturday at Backyard Bowl. The Vikings defeated North Central and Illinois Wesleyan in both traditional and Baker play to improve to 10-2 on the year.
In the day's opener, freshman
Alexis Munch's (Sycamore HS, Sycamore, Ill.) 193 paced Augustana to a 774-546 victory over North Central in traditional action. Sophomore
Kennedy Sawyer (Glenbard East Bloomingdale, Ill.) backed Munch with a game of 169.
The Vikings' 816-480 Baker win over the Cardinals included a 225 in game four.
Munch again led the way against Illinois Wesleyan. She rolled a 209 as Augustana cruised to a 849-560 win in traditional play. Classmate
Samantha Novak (Fenton HS, Bensenville, Ill.) chipped in a 188 in her first collegiate game.
The Vikings were victorious in Baker play as well, downing the Titans by a score of 759 to 537.
On Saturday, February 20, Tegtmeier's bunch is scheduled to compete in Bloomington, Illinois with Elmhurst, North Central and host Illinois Wesleyan.
