ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Augustana men's wrestling team secured a lopsided win this afternoon on a road trip to St. Louis. The Vikings (1-6, 0-2) utilized four wins by forfeit and just one loss overall to earn their first victory of the season.
Augustana started the dual on a hot streak as they won the first five matches of the season
Ellex Williams (125) and
Trevor Boryla (133) both won by tech. fall while
Kameron Hanel (141),
Alex Cruz (149), and
Carson Harder (157) picked up wins via fall.
The Vikings were leading the team score race 28-0 before Fontbonne broke through. At 165 pounds, Micah Dennis won the only match of the night for the Griffins as he beat
Chase Clark by decision.
All the heavier matches were awarded to the Vikings via forfeit.
