DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Augustana wrestling team (0-1) opened their 2021-22 season schedule last night in a Quad City rivalry dual at St. Ambrose University.
The Fighting Bees jumped out to an early advantage in the team race with three wins at 125, 133, and 141. Augustana finally got on the board with back-to-back wins from brothers Alex and
Angel Cruz and 149 pounds and 157 pounds, respectively.
The Vikings won three more matches at 174, 197, and 285, all of which coming by fall. The late charge was not enough, though, as an Augustana team point deduction proved the difference and St. Ambrose sealed the one-point victory. Individual match results are listed below.
