First-ever women's wrestling dual ends in Viking loss

Kara Rohlf picks up only win for Augustana

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Augustana women's wrestling (0-1) traveled to UW-Stevens Point tonight for the first dual meet in the history of the Viking program.
 
The Vikings suffered a 37-7 loss against the Pointers, mostly due to Augustana forfeits. UWSP was awarded wins at 101 pounds, 109 pounds, 123 pounds, and 191 pounds due to forfeit. The Vikings also earned a forfeit victory at 143 pounds.
 
All four head-to-head matchups went the way of the Pointers. At 130 pounds, Olivia Hollenbeck pinned Sydney Tajkowsksi. The other three UWSP wins came via tech. fall at 136 pounds, 155 pounds, and 170 pounds.
 
UWSP swept two exhibition matches as Angelica Torres-Lima pinned Ruby Gerhardt and Abby Nelson pinned Kara Rohlf.

136 – Addison Young def. Saniya Berry by tech. fall 11-1 (2:47).     
143 – Kara Rohlf wins by forfeit.                                                       
155 – Megan Struble def. Abbey Ellis by tech. fall 14-2 (4:12).
 
The Viking women will be on the road again for their next contest. Augustana will be at North Central on Wednesday, Nov. 24 for another dual meet.
