ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The undefeated Augustana women's basketball team (3-0) will host a nationally-ranked UW-Whitewater squad tomorrow evening. Wednesday's matchup will be Augustana's toughest test of their early non-conference schedule.
Augustana's three wins came over Knox to open the year in thrilling 57-55 tilt, then on the road against Central College and Coe College of the American Rivers Conference. The Vikings' 3-0 start is their best since the 2016-17 when they opened the schedule with 10-straight wins.
The Vikings currently have three players averaging double-digits in scoring.
Gabriela Loiz leads that category with 16.3 ppg followed by
Macy Beinborn and
Lauren Hall with 12.7 ppg each. Beinborn leads Augie in three-point shooting at a 36% clip. Hall has continued her dominance on the glass this season as she leads Augustana by a wide margin with an average of 12.3 rebounds per game.

th-ranked UW-Whitewater is also 3-0 this season. The Warhawks have beaten Calvin, Concordia Wisconsin, and Benedictine in convincing fashion thus far. Wednesday's game at Augustana will be the first of three-straight road contests at CCIW opponents for UWW.
Whitewater boasts two scorers averaging double figures including Aleah Grundahl with 19.3 ppg and Maggie Trautsch with 10.7 ppg. Grundahl has been incredibly efficient in her efforts with a 52% field goal rate. Johanna Taylor, who is just behind the top scorers with 9.7 ppg, leads UWW on the boards with an average of 7.3 rebounds per contest. UW-Whitewater's defense has been their difference-maker this season with four players averaging multiple steals per game. Veronica Kieres leads that defensive stat with 3.3 spg.
The Warhawks lead the all-time series with Augie by a 4-2 margin. The Vikings' last victory in the series came during their 10-0 start in 2016.
