DECATUR, Ill. – Augustana men's wrestling competed at the Millikin Open yesterday. The Vikings enjoyed some success as Augustana's athletes were littered throughout the various placements.
 
Augustana's best finish came from Trevor Boryla's third-place reward at 133 pounds. Boryla entered the quarterfinals after receiving a bye. He pinned Central College's Anthony Bestell to reach the semifinals. Millikin's Zac Blasioli narrowly defeated Boryla by a 5-3 decision. Boryla then won two straight matches by major decision to take third place.
 
The Vikings had two grapplers place fourth in their respective weight classes including Kameron Hanel at 141 pounds and Alex Cruz at 149 pounds.
 
Five more Augie men earned placement on the podium. Chase Clark (165) and Adam Ederar (197) earned fifth-place honors. Ellex Williams (125) and Clay DeBaillie (174) placed seventh in their respective weight classes. Finally, Jacob Ramos earned eighth-place honors at 285 pounds.
 
Augustana wrestling will be back in action next weekend when the Vikings travel to the UWEC 8-Man Battles hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, Nov. 20.
