ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana women's volleyball team will welcome another CCIW opponent to town for a league match tomorrow night. On Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7:00 P.M., Augie will take on the North Park Vikings.
North Park enters the match with an 11-6 overall record, and a 0-3 mark in CCIW play. Adriana Rodriguez, Taylor Guy, and Brily Pence make up the Vikings' three-headed monster on offense with 195 kills, 168 kills, and 138 kills, respectively. Guy leads the conference in hitting percentage at .389 and is also second in blocks with 58. Christina Gatta has been elite as a passer this season with a CCIW-best 605 assists. Gatta is also second on North Park's team with 200 digs, just behind Delaney Lynch's 203, and leads the squad with 34 service aces.
Augustana leads the all-time series against their Viking counterparts by a 7-1 margin. Dating back to the 2013 season, North Park only won four total sets against Augie. Most recently, though, North Park defeated Augustana in last year's match by a 3-1 score.
