WARRENVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's cross country team had a successful showing at the CCIW Championships on Saturday, with a majority setting personal bests out at St. James Farm.

Anna Boardman earned Second Team All-Conference with her performance, finishing in the top 20 and leading the Vikings with a time of 23:38 in the 6k race. The time for Boardman was good for a personal best by 16 seconds. Finishing next for Augie was Irais Tenorio, who also shattered her previous best by 20 seconds, coming in 24th overall with a time of 23:44. Despite battling illness, Emma Odle ran a solid race in 51st place, with teammate Kara Lotz right behind with a 15-second personal record of 24:47. Paige Kern rounded out the top five for the Vikings with an impressive two-minute improvement on the same course the team saw back in mid-September. In the women's open race, Portia Carrera ran nearly 90 seconds better than her last outing at this course.

As a team, the Vikings placed seventh overall with a total of 193 points. Elmhurst was named conference champions, their first since 2003.

"The team had an outstanding day with great pack running and everyone setting personal bests," said acting head coach Colin Young. "The team is healthy and excited to race at the NCAA DIII Midwest Regional Championships on our home course in two weeks."

Augustana is back in action on Saturday, November 13 for the NCAA DIII regionals.
