ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Augustana women's volleyball team is prepared for a busy weekend on the court. The Vikings travel to Bloomington to take on Illinois Wesleyan tonight, Friday, Oct. 22, and will remain at IWU to compete in 2021's third installment of the Titans' Holiday Inn Express Classic on Saturday, Oct. 23.
 
The first match of the weekend pits the Vikings against CCIW foe Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans enter the weekend with a record of 14-11 overall and 5-1 in league play. IWU dropped their most recent contest against 12^th-ranked UW-Eau Claire but won four consecutive matches prior to taking on the Blugolds.
 
Illinois Wesleyan is led by hitter Courtney McAuliffe with 238 kills and 99 blocks. Faith Washko, Jessica McCall, and Amber Juarez have also been major contributors with over 200 digs each. McCall is also second on the club with 168 kills to her credit. The Titans boast a duo of stellar setters in Madi Corey and Ava Porada who have recorded 465 assists and 414 assists, respectively.
 
IWU holds a 5-3 advantage in the all-time series with Augie and all five Titan wins have come in the last five matches.
 
Augustana will start Saturday's action with a tilt against nationally-ranked UW-Stevens Point. UWSP checked in at 21 on the most recent national poll. The Pointers are currently 20-6 overall with a meager 3-3 record in conference play.
 
Ashley Kopp leads UWSP with 373 kills and 46 service aces and is also second on the team with 283 digs. Emma Peterson leads that latter category with 397 digs while Katie Albrecht has been credited with 239 of her own. Grace Michalske has been dynamite for the Pointers with 677 assists.
 
Stevens Point leads the all-time series with Augie by a 2-1 margin. The Vikings' lone victory of UWSP came in their last match-up in 2017.
 
Lastly, Augustana will battle the Scots of Alma College in Saturday's final contest. Alma is currenly 1-15 on the seasonand winless in their league. The Vikings will look to even the all-time mark at two wins each.
