Vikings go 11-0 in dual meets; fall just short of winning fourth CCIW title in five years; Extend CCIW winning streak to 24 straight duals; Annie Timm is CCIW Player of the Year; Zeana Badawi & Timm win individual singles titles and combine for a doubles win at number one; Timm, Badawi and Magee earn all-conference recognition
 
Augustana extended its College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin winning streak to 24 straight matches in the fall of 2019 before falling just short of winning its fourth CCIW title in the last five years. The Vikings lost in the conference tournament to Wheaton by just seven points. The spring portion of the season opened with a pair of 9-0 dual-meet victories before fears over COVID-19 shut things down. Both the CCIW Automatic Qualifier and NCAA Division III Championships were casualties.
 
Head Coach Jon Miedema's squad finished the year with a perfect 11-0 dual-meet record and an 8-0 mark in CCIW play. Augustana has not lost a CCIW dual meet in women's tennis since October 15, 2016 when they fell to Wheaton in the final contest of the 2016 season.
 
Junior Annie Timm (Prairie Ridge HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) led the way this year. From her first singles spot, the team MVP finished with a 16-3 overall record and won the number one singles title in the CCIW. She was named the CCIW's Player of the Year, the fourth straight time that a Viking has captured the coveted honor. She joins Lauren Goggin (2016) and Caitlyn Schaffer (2017 & 2018) to keep the Augustana string going.
 
Timm was the second seed heading into the CCIW Tournament but defeated top-seed Giana Apostoli of Carthage 6-4; 6-4 in the championship. Timm now owns three CCIW singles titles, as she was the champion at number two in both 2017 and 2018. She went over the 100-victory mark this year and currently has a combined career record of 117-38. She is 63-17 in singles and 54-21 in doubles.
 
Timm also added a CCIW title at number one doubles, teaming with senior Zeana Badawi (Hinsdale Central HS, Burr Ridge, Ill.) to win 8-6 over Hougland and Alaina Kanthaphixay of North Central. In 2018-19, Timm and Badawi combined to win the number two doubles crown. Badawi and Timm were a perfect 7-0 as a doubles tandem this year, pushing their all-time mark together to 42-16, the fourth-most wins of any doubles combo in program history.
 
Badawi won the CCIW championship at number two singles with a 6-3; 6-2 victory over Emme Lindquist of Wheaton in the final. Despite being hampered by injury during the middle portion of the season, she finished the year with a 9-1 singles record. She finished her career ranked fifth in program history in singles victories (78-33) and ninth in doubles wins (77-34). Her 155 career total victories are sixth-best all-time at Augustana.
 
The Vikings had the CCIW runners-up at the numbers three though six singles positions.
 
Freshman Michaela Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) was second at number three and finished the season with a 15-5 record. Freshman Lily Schoeck (Alleman Catholic HS, Rock Island, Ill.) was second at number four. Winner of Augustana's Hardest Worker Award, Schoeck finished 13-3 on the year. Still another freshman, Lauren Oda (Elk Grove HS, Elk Grove Village, Ill.) took second at number five and ended the year with a 14-3 mark. Oda was named the Viking's Most Improved Player. Junior Kalli Majewski (Mundelein HS, Mundelein, Ill.) placed second at number six singles, finishing 9-2 on the year.
 
Schoeck and Oda took third in the CCIW at number two doubles and Majewski and junior Leraaen Abbott (Belvidere North HS, Belvidere, Ill.) were second at number three doubles. Schoeck and Oda finished 9-2 on the year while Majewski and Abbott ended up 5-3. Abbott finished 13-4 in all doubles matches this year and moved into ninth place on the school's career list for doubles winning percentage. She will carry a .723 (47-18) mark into her senior season.
 
Timm, Badawi and Magee were all named to the all-conference team. Timm and Badawi earned first team honors while Magee was a second team selection.
