Viking men finish 6-2 in dual meets and third at CCIW Championships' Aidan McConkey and Greg Roskowic earn all-conference honors
 
Coach Dan Lloyd's Augustana men posted a 6-2 dual-meet record in the 2019-20 season and placed third at the CCIW Championships for the third year in a row. Sophomore Aidan McConkey (Olympia HS, Windermere, Fla.) and senior Greg Roskowic (Rockford East HS, Rockford, Ill.) earned all-conference honors at the CCIW meet.
 
After a season-opening 143-61 setback at St. Ambrose on October 4, the Vikings rattled off five straight dual-meet victories. They bested Knox (168-19) and Millikin (138-65) at home on October 26 and Loras (161-39) and Knox (173-15) in Dubuque, Iowa on November 9. On November 22, they won at Monmouth by a score of 119-83.
 
The team's first invitational appearance came at Illinois Wesleyan on November 23. Augustana placed second in a four-team field, as Lloyd got a winning effort (1:30.41) from his 200 freestyle relay unit of junior Jeremy Wolf (Woodstock HS, Woodstock, Ill.), McConkey and freshmen Isaiah Valentine (Walnut Hills HS, Cincinnati, Ohio) and Jack Blumenfeld (Hersey HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.).
 
The Vikings placed seventh against a loaded field at the Wheaton Invitational on December 6-7.
 
Junior Brett Keefe (Rockford Christian HS, Machesney Park, Ill.) swam a winning :56.25 in the 100 individual medley and the 400 freestyle relay team of Valentine, senior Adam Smith (Palatine HS, Palatine, Ill.), Blumenfeld and Wolf won in 3:14.82 to lead Augustana to second place among six teams at the Grinnell Invitational on January 17-18.
 
On February 8, the Vikings split a double-dual in Wheaton, Illinois, falling 161-89 to the host Thunder and downing North Central 169-55.
 
At the CCIW Championships in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on February 20-22, McConkey and Roskowic earned all-conference recognition with respective second (:52.57) and third-place (:52.83) finishes in the 100 backstroke. Augustana scored 545 points to finish third behind host Carthage (871.5) and Wheaton (782).
