Freshman Lauren Oda didn't drop a game Saturday in posting a
pair of singles wins against Illinois Wesleyan and Wartburg at
the Lower Campus Courts. Oda won both of her doubles matches
as well.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Despite missing a key component from its lineup and Head Coach
Jon Miedema, the Augustana women's tennis team rolled to wins over Illinois Wesleyan and Wartburg Saturday at the Lower Campus Courts. The Vikings defeated the Titans 9-0 for their 18th consecutive CCIW dual-meet victory and came back to down the Knights 8-1 in a non-conference dual. Now 3-0 on the year, Augustana will be in action next at the ITA Regional in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 20-22.

The Viking women were under the direction of Assistant Coach
Jack Cullen on Saturday, while Miedema was in Kenosha, Wisconsin with the men. Even without usual second singles player
Zeana Badawi (Hinsdale Central HS, Bur Ridge, Ill.), Augustana had little trouble with IWU, dropping a total of just 10 games in nine matches.
Both the all-freshman second doubles duo of
Lily Schoeck (Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) and
Lauren Oda (Elk Grove HS, Elk Grove Village, Ill.) and sophomore
Kalli Majewski (Mundelein HS, Mundelein, Ill.) and freshman
Grace Rider (Madison East HS, Madison, Wis.), at number three, tallied 8-0 wins. Schoeck and Oda bested Alessia Girardin and Caitlyn Smith, with Majewski and Rider beating Autumn See and Andrea Zulawski. First doubles
Annie Timm (Prairie Ridge HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) and
Leraaen Abbott (Belvidere North HS, Belvidere, Ill.) scored an 8-2 victory over Rebecca Rochacz and Ashley Mohr.
Oda and Majewski each scored respective love, love victories over Smith and See at fourth and fifth singles. Timm won 6-0, 6-1 over Rochacz at number one and Schoeck defeated Mohr 6-1, 6-0 at number three. Freshman
Michaela Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) moved into Badawi's second singles spot and cruised past Girardin 6-1, 6-2. At number six, Rider was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Zulawski.
AUGUSTANA 8, WARTBURG 1
Augustana swept doubles play in its second dual of the day as well. Timm and Abbott were 8-1 winners over Wartburg's number one tandem of Madison Overmann and Hannah Fox. At number three, Majewski and Magee defeated Sydney Powers and Alyssa Guse by a score of 8-3. Oda and Schoeck edged Lauren O'Brian and Rachel Zittergruen 8-7 (6) and second doubles.
In singles action, Oda posted another 6-0, 6-0 win at number four, downing Jamie Knox. Timm prevailed one and one over Overmann at number one and Majewski was a 6-2, 6-1 victor over Powers at fifth singles. At number two, Magee won 6-1, 6-3 over Fox and Schoeck downed O'Brian 6-3, 6-1 at number three. The Vikings' lone setback came at sixth singles, where Rider dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision to Gabby Olejniczak.
