Sophomore Morgan Bullen recorded Augustana's lone singles victory
Saturday in a 7-2 loss to #35 UW-Whitewater in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Jon Miedema's Augustana women dropped a 7-2 decision Saturday to 35th-ranked UW-Whitewater at the Lake Geneva Tennis Club. The Vikings suffered just their second loss in 14 dual meets this year, while the Warhawks improved to 7-3—with two of those losses coming at the hands of Division I opponents.

Annie Timm (Prairie Ridge HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) and junior
Zeana Badawi (Hinsdale Central HS, Burr Ridge, Ill.) picked up Augustana's first win, downing Whitewater's Jessica Minkov and Sabrina Palavra by a score of 8-4 to improve to 16-3 on the season.
The Vikings trailed 2-1 after doubles play. Their number one team of seniors
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) and
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) fell 8-1 to Gabi Kitchell and Julie Martin and at number three, Paige Nierman and Molly Rueth downed sophomores
Leraaen Abbott (Belvidere North HS, Belvidere, Ill.) and
Morgan Bullen (Colorado Academy, Lakewood, Colorado) by the same score.
Bullen logged Augustana's lone singles victory. She defeated Warhawk Madeline Slicker 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) at number five.
Badawi suffered a tough 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) setback to Nierman at third singles. Palavra defeated Lombardi three and three at number four and at number one, Kitchell bested Schaffer 6-2, 6-4. Timm and Abbott both fell 6-0, 6-0. Martin got the better of Timm at second singles and Elise Ha defeated Abbott at number six.
Next up for the Vikings is a dual at Lake Forest on Sunday, March 24.
