the NCAA Lower Midwest Regional 285-pound title in Dubuque,
Iowa.

Adarios Jones (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) captured the 285-pound championship Sunday at the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional held at Loras College. Viking senior
Travis Pulse (Assumption HS, Milan, Ill.) placed seventh at 141 pounds.
Currently ranked third in the nation, Jones' path to the regional title started with a 13-4 major decision over Sam Mathis of Simpson. In the quarterfinals, he scored a 2-0 sudden victory over North Central's Audel Ochoa. An 8-0 major decision over Loras' Quin Gilliam in the semis advanced Jones to the championship match where he won 5-2 over Bowen Wileman of Wartburg.
Pulse won by fall at 6:41 over Amier Khamis of Coe in the first round before dropping a 17-1 technical fall to Millikin's Chris Williams in the quarters. In the consolations rounds, he scored a 12-3 major decision over Luther's Kyle Clough, but fell 10-3 to Marc Fleenor of North Central. In the seventh-place match, Pulse downed Buena Vista's Collin Stillson by a score of 7-3 to finish the year at 18-12.
At 157, Augustana's
Freddy Terranova (Jackson Memorial HS, Jackson, N.J.) went 1-2. He dropped a 7-5 first-round decision to Coe's Cole Erickson before pinning (5:41) Blake Bauer of Simpson in the consolation round. His tournament ended with a 7-0 setback to North Central's Rafael Roman. Terranova finished the season with a record of 18-12.
Wartburg claimed the team title with 169.5 points. Loras was second with 151.5 and Central third with 119.5. Augustana placed 13th with 31 points.
Jones, who finished third in the nation at 285 in 2017, will take a 24-0 record to the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships on March 8-9 in Roanoke, Virginia.
