MONMOUTH, Ill. – Coach Dan Lloyd's Augustana men won their fifth straight dual meet on Friday, downing Monmouth 119-83 at Pepper Natatorium. Junior Jeremy Wolf (Woodstock HS, Woodstock, Ill.), sophomore Aidan McConkey (Olympia HS, Windermere, Fla.) and freshman Jack Blumenfeld (Hersey HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) won individual events and the Vikings claimed both relays to improve to 5-1 on the season. They'll be back in action on Saturday, November 23 at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Bloomington, Illinois.

Blumenfeld led an Augustana sweep in the 100-yard freestyle. He posted a winning time of :50.29, followed by classmate Isaiah Valentine (Walnut Hills HS, Cincinnati., Ohio) and senior Zach Ogden (United Township HS, Silvis, Ill.), who finished in :50.44 and :56.87, respectively.

McConkey claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:49.73, with Blumenfeld less than a half-second back in 1:50.22.

Wolf's individual victory came in the 100 butterfly. He swam a :54.26, with senior Greg Roskowic (Rockford East HS, Rockford, Ill.) finishing second in :56.56.

Lloyd's 200 medley relay consisting of Roskowic, junior Brett Keefe (Rockford Christian HS, Machesney Park, Ill.), Valentine and senior Adam Smith (Palatine HS, Palatine, Ill.) won in 1:41.20 and his 200 free quartet of McConkey, Wolf, freshman Matthew Felber (Marmion Academy, North Aurora, Ill.) and Blumenfeld posted a winning time of 1:30.80.

Viking depth was a key to the win, as Lloyd's crew took second and third in all but one event that it didn't win. Valentine (11:01.56) and Smith (11:01.59) went 2-3 in the 1000 freestyle and Keefe (2:05.01) and Felber (2:05.69) did the same in the 200 individual medley. In the 100 backstroke, it was Roskowic (1:01.05) and junior Charles Young (St. Charles East HS, St. Charles, Ill.) (1:02.10) placing second and third and in the 500 free, it was McConkey (5:04.37) and Ogden (5:42.05). Keefe (1:02.53) was second in the 100 breaststroke, with Felber (1:05.05) in third.

Wolf posted Augustana's other top-three finish, clocking a :22.66 to take second in the 50 freestyle.
