Freshman Megan Frost won the 100 freestyle and anchored two winning relay
teams as Augustana stayed undefeated with victories over Knox and Loras
on Saturday, November 9 in Dubuque, Iowa.
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Augustana stayed undefeated in women's swimming & diving with wins over Loras (155-54) and Knox (172-53) on Saturday, November 9 in Dubuque, Iowa. The Vikings are now 5-0 on the season and they won all but one swimming event.
 
Sophomore 
Madelynn Marunde (Belvidere North HS, Belvidere, Ill.) was the lone individual double winner for head coach 
Dan Lloyd's outfit on Saturday. She won the 200 individual medley in 2:17.33 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.22. She also swam the second leg on the winning 200 medley relay team. That unit, which consisted of sophomore 
Aviana Zahara (Pleasant Valley HS, Moline, Ill.), freshman Dominque Valentine 
(Walnut Hills HS, Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman 
Megan Frost (McHenry HS, Lakemoor, Ill.), recorded a time of 1:54.97.
 
Zahara won the 50 freestyle in :24.99 while Frost took first in the 100 freestyle (:57.90) and Valentine won the 200 butterfly (2:24.68) and was third in the 50 freestyle (:27.25). Zahara and Frost were also on the winning 200 freestyle relay team that recorded a time of 1:43.87. Zahara handled the leadoff leg while Frost anchored. Senior 
Gabrielle Ainsworth (Rockton Hononegah HS, South Beloit, Ill.) and sophomore 
Alicia Garcia (Seminole HS, Lake Mary, Fla.) were the other two members of that victorious relay. Garcia won the 100 freestyle in 11:41.15 while Ainsworth was second in the 200 butterfly (2:28.09).
 
Sophomore 
Lauren Raike (Alamo Heights HS, San Antonio, Texas) won the 200 freestyle (2:04.59) and took second in the 200 backstroke (2:23.95) and second in the 200 breaststroke (2:40.20).
 
Junior 
Marissa Jaskae (Waubonsie Valley HS, Aurora, Ill.) grabbed the 500 freestyle in 5:52.34 and placed second in the 1000 freestyle in 12:11.52.
 
Freshman 
Stephanie Melendez (Minooka HS, Minooka, Ill.) placed second in the 200 freestyle in 2:18.53 and freshman 
Josie Torres (Lincoln-Way West HS, Manhattan, Ill.) was third in the same event in 2:21.38. Senior 
Grace O'Shea (Sacred Heart-Griffin HS, Springfield, Ill.) placed second in the 500 freestyle in 6:00.47. Senior 
Chelsea Brandt (Geneva HS, Geneva, Ill.) finished third in the 200 breaststroke (3:02.83).
 
The Vikings will put their undefeated record on the line next on Friday, November 22 in a dual meet at Monmouth.
