LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Augustana competed at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals Friday at Freedom Hall and Exhibition Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. The Vikings dropped all three of their duals and are now 1-7 heading into a another at Dubuque on Tuesday, January 8.
 
Augustana fell 47-0 to 10th-ranked Wisconsin-La Crosse in its opener and 51-0 to eighth-rated Baldwin Wallace in the consolation bracket. Each of those programs sported a lineup with three individuals ranked in the nation's top ten. The Eagles boast a total of seven grapplers ranked in D3wrestle.com's national top 25, while eight Yellow Jackets hold the same distinction.
 
In their final dual of the day, the Vikings fell 38-7 to Centenary (N.J.), which featured the nation's top rated 197-pounder, Etiini Udott. Picking up wins for Coach Tony Willaert's crew were seniors Travis Pulse (Assumption HS, Milan, Ill.), who defeated Cameron Bruffy 7-5 at 141 pounds, and Freddy Terranova (Jackson Memorial, Jackson, N.J.), who scored a 9-1 major decision over Perry Maio at 149.
