ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Four Augustana wrestlers scored victories on Thursday, January 10 in the Vikings 33-17 dual meet loss to 11^th ranked Coe in the Carver Center. Head Coach Tony Willaerts team had the Kohawks on the run in the early going as a three match winning streak gave the home team a 13-6 lead after four weight classes.
 
Augustana gave up six points due to a forfeit at 125 pounds but sophomore Josh Diehl (Oskaloosa HS, Oskaloosa, Iowa) picked four team points with a 10-0 win over Diego Ortega at 133 pounds. Senior Travis Pulse (Davenport Assumption HS, Milan, Ill.) battled his way to a 3-2 decision over Amier Khamis at 141 pounds and that gave the Vikings a 7-6 lead.
 
Sophomore Daniel Terronez (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) caught A.J. Patterson at 141 pounds and pinned him in just 1:04 to make the score 13-6 in favor of Augustana.
 
Coe won the five weight classes, four of them by fall to build an insurmountable lead that eventually reached 33-13 after the 197 pound weight class.
 
Junior Adarios Jones (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) closed the meet with a 10-2 win over Kaleb Reeves at 285 pounds and in the process he pushed his individual record to 16-0 on the season.
 
Coe moved to 9-5 on the year while Augustana is now 1-9. The Vikings will be in action again on Saturday, January 12 at the Cornell Open in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
