NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana got off to a quick start in the 2018 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men's Tennis Tournament. The Vikings, who are the number one seed in field after finishing first in the regular season with a 6-1 league record, defeated Elmhurst 5-0 in opening round play on Thursday, May 3 at the Nike Sports Complex in Naperville, Illinois.

Head Coach Jon Miedema's team made short work of the short-handed Bluejays.

The Vikings got out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles round was over. The freshman duo of Peter Alex (Hinsdale South HS, Darien, Ill.) and Tom Friberg (Lund, Sweden) beat Shawn Sabaricos and David Demoll 8-5 at number one.
