Sophomore Zeana Badawi won all four of her matches Sunday in
Augustana's 8-1 victories over UW-Oshkosh and Luther at the
Lower Campus Courts.

Jon Miedema's Augustana women's tennis team, ranked 18th in the NCAA Central Region, improved to 18-8 on the season with a pair of 8-1 victories Sunday at the Lower Campus Courts. The Vikings defeated Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Luther and will next be in action on Friday, April 27 at the CCIW Automatic Qualifier Tournament in Wheaton, Illinois.
AUGUSTANA 8, UW-OSHKOSH 1
Miedema's second and third doubles teams were both 8-1 winners against the Titans. Sophomore
Zeana Badawi (Hinsdale Central HS, Burr Ridge, Ill.) and freshman
Annie Timm (Prairie Ridge HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) beat Alyssa Leffler and Samantha Koppa at number two and freshmen
Faith Johnson (Harker Heights, Texas) and
Leraaen Abbott (Belvidere North HS, Belvidere, Ill.) defeated Ashlee Polena and Lesley Kutnink at number three. Augustana's only setback came at first doubles, where UWO's Hannah Peters and Bailey Sagen were 8-6 winners over junior
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) and freshman
Maleeha Chowdhury (Rock Canyon HS, Highlands Ranch, Colo.).
In singles action, Timm downed Sagen 6-1, 6-0 at number one and Badawi won 6-0, 2-6, 10-0 over Leffler at number two. Johnson defeated Peters 6-0, 6-3 at number three.
At fourth singles, Chowdhury recorded a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Koppa. Freshman
Morgan Bullen (Colorado Academy, Lakewood, Colo.) topped Kutnink one and one at number five and Abbott was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Monica Micoliczyk at sixth singles.
AUGUSTANA 8, LUTHER 1
Against the Norse, junior
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) and Lombardi posted an 8-2 win over Jackie Cychosz and Anna Pearson at number one doubles, while Timm and Badawi defeated Kelsey Kruse and Devon Bourget 8-1 at number two. The Vikings' only loss was at third doubles, where Chowdhury and Bullen fell 8-5 to Britta Pressler and Ellie Hemker.
Schaffer downed Cychosz 6-0, 6-3 at first singles. Both Timm and Badawi won 6-1, 6-1 at second and third singles, respectively. Timm beat Pearson and Badawi bested Pressler.
At number four singles, Johnson scored a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Bourget. Chowdhury rallied to beat Stephanie Almquist 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 at number five and Bullen was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Kruse at number six.
