a victory at third doubles Tuesday, but Augustana dropped an 8-1
decision to UW-Whitewater in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Jack Morkin (University HS, Bloomington, Ill.) and
Caio DeRezende (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Coach
Jon Miedema's squad is now 12-9 in dual meet play, while the Warhawks improved to 14-8.
Morkin and DeRezende bested the Whitewater duo of Lucas Monterosso and Grant Thompson 8-5 at number three doubles. At number one, seniors
Samuel Totten (University HS, Normal, Ill.) and
Eric Pohl (Fremd HS, Palatine, Ill.) dropped a 9-8 (7-5) heartbreaker to Zane Navratil and Jimmy Engelhart. Freshmen
Peter Alex (Hinsdale South HS, Darien, Ill.) and
Tom Friberg (Lund, Sweden) fell 8-4 at second doubles to Matt Zurowski and Brandon Dechter.
In singles, DeRezende and Alex suffered tough losses at numbers two and three, respectively. DeRezende dropped a 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 10-8 marathon to Engelhart and Alex fell in straights sets, both of which went to tiebreakers. Dechter came out on top 7-6 (8-6) and 7-6 (7-4).
Totten dropped a 7-5, 6-4 decision to Navratil at number one. At fourth singles, Zurowski bested Pohl 6-4, 6-0. Montesorro was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over freshman
Rodrigo Medeiros (Brazil) at number five and Zach Wood beat Friberg three and three at number six.
Next up for Augustana is a key CCIW dual at Wheaton on Saturday, April 21. The Vikings are currently 3-1 in the league, one-half game behind the league-leading Thunder (3-0).
