WHEATON, Ill. – In the final action before the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championship the Augustana women's swimming & diving team dropped a pair of meets on Saturday, February 3 in Wheaton, Illinois. The Vikings of head coach Dan Lloyd fell to host Wheaton 134-107 and also lost to North Central 137-112.
 
The Blue & Gold did come away with a trio of winning performances in the meet, which is the last competition before the CCIW Championships in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on February 15-17.
 
Senior Sara Hovren (University HS, Bloomington, Ill.) led a one-two-three-four Viking sweep in the 500 freestyle with a winning time of 5:52.23. She followed that up with a fifth place performance in the 200 backstroke in 1:15.33. In the 500 freestyle she was chased to the finish line by teammates Victoria Frank (Hinsdale South HS, Willowbrook, Ill.) second in 5:52.97, Marissa Jaskae (Waubonsie Valley HS, Aurora, Ill.) third in 5:53.96 and Grace O'Shea (Sacred Heart Griffin HS, Springfield, Ill.) fourth in 6:07.03. Frank placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:12.85) and Jaskae took fifth in the 50 freestyle (:26.86).
 
Junior Ashley Comeau (Romeoville HS, Romeoville, Ill.) won the one-meter diving with a point total of 258.95. Junior Mia Polinski (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:59.58.
 
The 200 freestyle relay team of senior Kristin Schoenecker (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.), sophomore Patti Grod (Glenbrook North HS, Northbrook, Ill.), senior Nicole Olsen (Plainfield East HS, Romeoville, Ill.) and sophomore Gabrielle Ainsworth (Rockton Hononegah HS, South Beloit, Ill.) finished second in 1:44.70. Schoenecker took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.35 and Grod was second in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.31. Ainsworth placed second in the 200 butterfly with a clocking of 2:34.91.
 
Junior Rachel Heah (Convent Green Lane, Penang, Malaysia) was third in the 200 backstroke (2:23.23) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:06.90). Junior Taylor Campbell (Tuscola HS, Tuscola, Ill.) finished fourth in the 100 freestyle in :59.04. Senior Lisa Pohlman-Zordan (Lincoln-Way West HS, New Lenox, Ill.) was fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:18.79) and sophomore Carissa Boerboom (Inver Grove Heights HS, Rosemount, Minn.) took fifth in the 200 individual medley (2:28.99).
