CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – In a match that was postponed one day because of icy roads and treacherous driving conditions, Augustana fell to seventh ranked Coe 43-6 in non-conference collegiate wrestling action on Friday, January 12 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Vikings won just two matches against the Kohawks and fell to 1-9 on the season while Coe moved to 8-4.
 
Junior Dale Charlier (Cary-Grove HS, Cary, Ill.) continued his fine work as of late as he picked up a 7-4 win over Brady Ruden of Coe at 141 pounds. Charlier is now 14-6 on the season, which is tied for the team lead in victories.
 
Charlier's win came after the Vikings forfeited at 125 and 133 pounds. Augustana then suffered three pins, two medical defaults, a technical fall and a major decision before sophomore Adarios Jones (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) took the mat at 285 pounds.
 
Jones, ranked number one in NCAA Division III, moved his record to a perfect 14-0 with a 22-7 technical fall (3:58) over Frantony Lewis.
 
Augustana will be in action again on Saturday, January 13 at the Matman Invitational in Mt. Vernon, Iowa at Cornell College.
