Junior Taryn VanEarwage had a team-high 10 kills and
seven digs in Augustana's loss to Berry Friday at the Colorado
College Invitational.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Berry rolled to decisive wins in the first two sets and finished off Augustana with a 25-22 victory in the third Friday at the Colorado College Classic. Coach
Kelly Bethke's Vikings drop to 0-2 on the year, while Berry—also the Vikings—improved to 1-1. On Saturday, September 2, Augustana takes on Whittier at 2:00 p.m. MDT and ninth-ranked Colorado College at 6:00 p.m. MDT.
A Micayla Bedoian kill gave Berry a 5-4 lead that it wouldn't relinquish in set one. Later, Carson VanCampen kills accounted for three straight Berry points and a 17-9 lead. The final four points in a 25-12 win featured kills by three different Berry players.
Berry led from the get-go in game two and cruised to a 25-14 win. Christina Goforth delivered five kills.
