Zeana Badawi is now 23-4 in singles for
the Vikings this year. She won two doubles
and two singles matches on Saturday, April 1
against Wisconsin-LaCrosse and Coe.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana moved its women's tennis record to a glossy 20-2 with impressive wins over Wisconsin-LaCrosse and Coe by identical scores of 7-2 on Saturday, April 1 at the Lower Campus Courts. The Vikings have now won four straight since an 8-1 loss at Wisconsin-Whitewater on March 12.

Jon Miedema's team will compete in the Midwest Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday (April 7-8) in Madison, Wisconsin.

Augustana used a 3-0 start in doubles as a springboard to a 7-2 win over Wisconsin-LaCrosse in an early morning match on Saturday, April 1 at the Lower Campus Courts. The Vikings won at number one doubles by a score of 8-6 when senior

Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) beat Hayley Clope and Alaina Bublitz 8-4 at number two. The number three team of freshman

Vicki Andonova (Downers Grove South HS, Westmont, Ill.) beat Samantha Fleming and Kim Drangeid 8-6.
When the scene shifted to singles the top match of the morning came at number one singles where
Lauren Goggin scored a significant victory over Bellissimo 3-6; 7-5; 10-7. Goggin was behind Bellissimo in the most recent regional rankings so the win will help her move up.
Dana Goggin beat Spahn 6-0; 6-4 at number two while Schaffer took Clope 6-2; 6-2 at number three. Badawi won 6-4; 6-2 over Fleming at number four.
Andonova lost to Maura Anderson 1-6; 1-6 at number five and Lombardi fell 3-6; 1-6 to Bublitz at number six.
Wisconsin-LaCrosse was 17-2 coming into the meet.
AUGUSTANA 7, COE 2
The Vikings won for the 20
th time this season against just two losses with a 7-2 victory over the KoHawks, who are now 13-8 on the year.
Lauren Goggin continued her fine play at singles with a 6-3; 7-5 win over Haley Resnick at number one. Goggin is now 27-4 on the season. Her twin sister
Dana Goggin dropped a 1-6; 1-6 decision to Lauren French at number two and fell to 21-4 on the year.
Schaffer took a hard-fought 4-6; 6-2; 10-3 decision over Sarah Lasecki at number three to push her record to 26-5 while Badawi beat Kaitlin Fosler 6-0; 6-2 at number four. Badawi is 23-4 in this, her freshman year. Andonova, who has over 100 combined wins in her career, beat Lakyn Boltz 6-1; 6-2 at number five to up her mark to 21-9. Lombardi is now 13-11 after beating Ella White 6-3; 6-3 at number six.
Lauren Goggin and Lombardi beat Lasecki and Fosler 8-1 at number two doubles and they are now 11-2 as a team. Badawi and Andonova defeated Boltz and Tori Montoya 8-3 and are 13- at number three.
