Senior Vicki Andonova won twice in singles and doubles as the
Vikings beat Adrian and Hanover 9-0 on Tuesday, February 28.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Augustana picked up a pair of 9-0 non-conference victories on Tuesday, February 28 at the USTA National Training Center in Orlando, Florida. The Vikings of head coach
Jon Miedema pushed their overall record to 13-1 on the season and in the process a trio of players moved toward some significant milestones.
While Augustana was blanking Hanover and Adrian by identical 9-0 scores, seniors
Dana Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and
Lauren Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and sophomore
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) were marching up the college's career charts.
Currently the school record for combined victories (singles and doubles) is 178 by Kim Sawyer (178-61) from 2010-14 and the Goggin twins are closing in on that mark. As of right now
Dana Goggin is in second place with a mark of 172-64 while
Lauren Goggin is right behind her with a record of 170-74.
Schaffer is coming up on 100 career wins in less than two seasons of work. She is 97-19 and is on the verge of becoming the quickest to the century mark in Augustana history.
The Vikings have two more matches to play on the Florida trip before coming back to the Midwest to resume the spring schedule.

Augustana won for the 12
th time in 13 matches this year in a 9-0 decision over Hanover on Tuesday, February 28 at the USTA National Training Center in Orlando, Florida. The Vikings jumped off to a quick 3-0 lead in doubles and were never headed.

Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) beat Alana Feeley and Susie Winternheimer 8-2. At number three doubles the Viking team of freshman
Zeana Badawi (Hinsdale Central HS, Burr Ridge, Ill.) and senior
Vicki Andonova (Downers Grove South HS, Westmont, Ill.) beat Caroline Millard and Ruth Gaston 8-1.
Lauren Goggin defeated Cami Jones 6-0; 6-2 at number one singles while
Dana Goggin handled Farrell 7-6; 6-1 at number two. Schaffer had to go three sets to defeat Schwartz 6-2; 3-6; 10-5 at number three.
Badawi beat Lizzy Katzenberger 6-0; 6-2 at number four and Andonova defeated Kelly Gehlbach 6-4; 6-3 at number five. Lombardi won at number six by a score of 6-2; 6-0 over Emily Karst.

The Vikings moved to 13-1 on the season with a 9-0 win over Adrian on February 28 in Orlando, Florida. Augustana dominated the doubles matches, losing just two points en route to building up a 3-0 lead.
