Sophomore Souhail Rhafiri won the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke
Friday in Augustana's 154-48 dual meet win at Monmouth.
MONMOUTH, Ill. – Augustana won 10 of 11 events and blasted Monmouth 154-48 in men's swimming action on Friday, November 17 in Monmouth, Illinois. The Vikings of head coach

Augustana had a pair of individual double winners in the meet with sophomore Souhail Rhafiri
(Rabat, Morocco) winning the 200 freestyle (1:53.73) and the 100 breaststroke and junior Bryan Haage
(Huntley HS, Huntley, Ill.) taking the 200 individual medley (2:01.53) and the 100 backstroke (:56.06).
Haage was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay the won the opening event of the meet in 1:39.09. He was joined by junior Jared Ekberg
(Rockford Christian HS, Rockford, Ill.), freshman Brett Keefe
(Rockford Christian HS, Machesney Park, Ill.) and senior Jacob Speechley
(Lockport HS, Lockport, Ill.). Ekberg won the 100 butterfly (:53.70) and was second in the 500 freestyle (5:17.25). Keefe placed second in the 100 butterfly in :57.67. Speechley won the 100 freestyle in :48.43 and took second in the 50 freestyle in :22.33.
Rhafiri anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay to victory in a time of 1:30.60 in addition to his two individual wins. He was joined that relay by senior Miguel Rodriguez
(Rockford Boylan HS, Rockford, Ill.), sophomore Adam Smith
(Palatine HS, Palatine, Ill.) and freshman Jeremy Wolf
(Woodstock HS, Woodstock, Ill.). Smith won the 1000 freestyle in 10:59.91 while Wolf was second in the 100 freestyle (:49.47) and Rodriguez took third in the 100 freestyle (:50.07).
Freshman Charles Young
(St. Charles East HS, St. Charles, Ill.) won the 50 freestyle in :22.02. Sophomore Connor Bullard
(Rockford Auburn HS, Loves Park, Ill.) was second in the 100 freestyle in 11:00.93. Sophomore Zach Ogden
(United Township HS, East Moline, Ill.) took second in the 200 individual medley (2:14.89) and third in the 100 breaststroke and sophomore Greg Roskowic
(Rockford East HS, Rockford, Ill.) was second in the 100 backstroke (:56.91).
Sophomore William Trauner
(Bloomington Central Catholic HS, Bloomington, Ill.) finished third in the 50 freestyle (:22.54), freshman Andrew Doerr-Pasanen
(Santiago HS, Corona, Calif.) was third in the 200 individual medley (2:20.24) and senior Chris Wilson
(Taunton HS, United Kingdom) placed third in the 500 freestyle (5:53.85).
The Vikings will be at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, November 18 in Bloomington, Illinois.
