Freshman Meg Chadick won both of her singles matches Sunday
without dropping a game and added a doubles victory, as Augustana
defeated Elmhurst and North Central by identical 8-1 scores on the road.

Jon Miedema's Augustana women's tennis team went on the road Sunday and picked up a pair of dual meet victories in conference play. The Vikings won 8-1 at Elmhurst in the morning and traveled to Naperville, Illinois in the afternoon, where they took care of North Central by the same score. Miedema's outfit is now 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in CCIW action. On Saturday, October 7, Augustana hosts North Park and St. Ambrose at the Lower Campus Courts at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
AUGUSTANA 8, ELMHURST 1
ELMHURST, Ill. - The Vikings swept in singles and took two of three doubles matches in their 8-1 win over the Bluejays.
Juniors
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) and
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) made quick work of Rachel Rettger and Ysabel Gonzaga at first doubles, winning 8-0. Freshmen
Maleeha Chowdhury (Rock Canyon HS, Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and
Leraaen Abbott (Belvidere North HS, Belvidere, Ill.) posted an 8-2 victory over Dacey Maglaque and Meg Simon at number three. Elmhurst's lone win came at second doubles, where Kathryn Wheeler and Chiara Gaudio downed freshmen
Annie Timm (Prairie Ridge HS, Crystal Lake, Ill.) and
Morgan Bullen (Colorado Academy, Lakewood, Colo.) by a score of 8-3.

Margaret Chadick (Plainfield North HS, Plainfield, Ill.) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Simon at number six. Timm downed Gonzaga 6-1, 6-1 at number two and freshman
Faith Johnson (Harker Heights HS, Harker Heights, Texas) defeated Maglaque love and two at number five.
Schaffer was a 6-1, 6-3 winner over Gaudio at number one and Bullen scored a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Wheeler at number four. Chowdhury completed the Vikings' singles sweep with a 6-3, 7-6 (1) win over Rettger at number three.
AUGUSTANA 8, NORTH CENTRAL 1
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - At North Central, Augustana swept in doubles and took five of six singles matches.
Johnson and Abbott teamed up for an 8-0 whitewash of Mackenzie Farrell and Rena Kawakami at third doubles. Schaffer and Lombardi won again, defeating Diana Barcelata and Morgan House 8-2 at number one, while Timm and Chadick were victorious by the same score over Tiffany Smolik and Reagan Scherpe at second doubles.
Three Vikings won singles matches without losing a game. At number two, Timm was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over House, while Johnson and Chadick won by the same score over Scherpe and Lauren Dvorak at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
At number three, Chowdhury won 6-2, 6-1 over Katie Legorreta and Bullen defeated Smolik three and one at number four. Augustana's lone setback came at first singles, where Schaffer dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Barcelata.
