ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – It was fitting that Augustana's Ethan Benoit (Marist HS, Oak Lawn, Ill.) picked up an impressive victory on Senior Night in a 33-10 dual meet loss to 13^th ranked Coe in the Carver Center. Benoit, one of three seniors honored before the match by head coach Eric Juergens, scored an impressive victory over Andrew Holladay at 197 pounds.
 
Benoit moved his record to 14-7 as he dispatched Holladay, who was 18-7 coming into the match, by a score of 14-7 with an impressive array of offensive moves.
 
Augustana was able to win just three matches on the night and the score was similar to when the two teams met on January 5 at the NWCA National Duals in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The Kohawks won that match 39-10.
 
Coe won the first five weight classes and had a 21-0 lead before Viking junior Trace Timmons (Davenport Assumption HS, Davenport, Iowa) finished with a flurry of points in the final 15 seconds of his 165 pound weight class bout with Ryan Harrington. Timmons won 8-3 and bumped his record to 14-4 on the season.
 
The other win for Augustana came at 285 pounds where sophomore Adarios Jones (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) beat Garret Kelson 17-6.
 
The Vikings, who are now 7-5 on the year, will compete in the Matman Invitational on Saturday, January 14 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa at Cornell College.
