DECATUR, Ill. – Sophomore Taryn VanEarwage (Rock Island HS, Rock Island, Ill.) had seven kills and 17 digs Saturday as Augustana won a neutral-site match against Rose-Hulman in straight sets. The win—which came at Millikin University—lifted Coach Kelly Bethke's squad to 12-4 on the year, while the Engineers dropped to 7-8.
 
The Vikings took the opening set 25-21 and cruised to a 25-10 win in game two. They fought off RHIT in a tight third set, avoiding further play with a 26-24 win.
 
Senior Jacqueline Kibir-Evans (Trinity HS, Forest Park, Ill.) and junior Emily Westermeyer (Huntley HS, Huntley, Ill.) paced the Augustana attack with eight kills each. VanEarwage added seven and senior Amy Kalkhoff (Clear Creek Amana HS, North Liberty, Iowa) five.
 
Bethke's setting duo of senior Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Ill.) and sophomore McKenzie Zambrano (Rock Island HS, Rock Island, Ill.) doled out 13 and 11 assists, respectively. Lindaman also had a pair of service aces.
 
In addition to VanEarwage's 17, Westermeyer came up with nine digs and junior libero Claire Martin (Mother McAuley HS, Orland Park, Ill.) seven. Freshman Grace Bialobok (Homewood-Flossmoor HS, Homewood, Ill.) was in on a team-high four blocks and Kibir-Evans and senior Nicole Morrissey (Lake Zurich HS, Lake Zurich, Ill.) three each.
 
The Vikings jump back into College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin play on Tuesday, September 27. They'll travel to Waukesha, Wisconsin to take on Carroll in a 7:00 p.m. match.
